Monthly Relationship Thoughts
“Problems in relationship occur because each person is concentrating on what is missing in the other person.” ~ Wayne Dyer

What are you looking for in your partner? Do you have it? Are you a good communicator? Do you share your feelings?  But they do not. Are you only looking at communication and sharing feelings as a verbal thing? Do you think that the only valid form of communication is talking? If you are ignoring all the ways one communicates with a partner and narrow it down to verbal only you are missing some of the best moments in your relationship. What is my partner telling me when he makes me dinner? What is he telling me when he bakes me cookies? Or buy my favorite coffee? When he shows interest in the things that I am interested in? Could he be saying I matter to him? Could he be saying I was thinking about what you like so I made you cookies or I picked up your brand of coffee while I was out? I understand that is what that means because that is what it means when I do special things for him. So what if he did not say to me verbally  “while I was out shopping I was thinking of you.” So if your person is not a talker but a doer you probably should not get hung up on verbal communication, don’t dismiss their form of communication because it does not match your expectations.

“To effectively communicate, we must realize that we are all different in the way we perceive the world and use this understanding as a guide to our communication with others.” ~ Tony Robbins
